The Town

Newburgh is situated in North Fife, Scotland. It is within easy distance of Perth, Dundee, St Andrews, Cupar, Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes, and about an hour by car from Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Rail links

Newburgh station was closed as part of the rationalisation of the national rail network in the 1950s. Plans are ongoing to petition for its reopening, but for the present the nearest stations are:

Ladybank (slightly nearer) and Cupar (more trains stop there) for trains to Edinburgh.
Perth for trains to Glasgow.
Dundee for trains to Aberdeen and the North.

Buses

Car Parking

There are three good sized free car parks in Newburgh, by Newburgh Primary School, off West Shore Road and by Mugdrum Park. Note that parking on Newburgh High Street is limited to half an hour, but for visitors to the Steeple long-term on-street parking is available in Whitecraigs Road. Enter by Hill Road and you can walk down to the Steeple via either of two footpaths, Towerwell or Reef Mog.

Tayside Institute

The Tayside Institute Community Centre is the focus of much of Newburgh’s social activity and is also an important source of local information. It is situated just across from the Steeple:
