The primary school for the Newburgh catchment area is Newburgh Primary School, which plays a prominent part in the town’s social life and a number of local projects. The school has notably been involved in environmental enhancements to local landmark Ormiston Hill, which boasts a stunning view overlooking the Firth. The improvements include flower planting, an information station at the summit, picnic tables and benches, one of which is dedicated to the memory of Newburgh boy Michael Udall, who lost his life in a tragic accident in October 2004.
The secondary school for this catchment area is Bell Baxter High School in Cupar, around 10 miles from Newburgh. Free bus transport is available and the journey to Cupar takes around half an hour.
