December 5 2007 saw the arrival of a newcomer to Newburgh High Street. Number 60a, formerly the home of a cat rescue charity shop, has been transformed by the wiles of Jeanette Sendler and FAC member Alison Mountain into a unique destination that reflects Newburgh's status as an up and coming player on the Fife arts scene. Just two steps off the street and you are in an ancient dungeon, with old stone walls softened by an array of colourful locally made fabrics. The original 17th century stone fireplace is warmed by a log burner, and you can feast your eyes on an enticing range of arts and crafts made in Scotland, and in Newburgh in particular, while enjoying coffee or tea served in a hand picked china cup. No two tea pots look quite the same – or tables or chairs come to that! Donations are presently being accepted for coffee and tea pending assessment of demand for this service.
